Today I would like to share the grace of God under the title, ¡°Faith to Sacrifice Thank Offerings.¡±
We must live a life of thanksgiving in all circumstances as the people who have received God¡¯s endless grace.

Psalm 50:23 says, ¡°He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God.¡±

God Himself emphasizes how important we honor Him through thanksgiving. Today, many people live a weary and tiring life because Adam fell into the devil¡¯s temptation. Due to Adam¡¯s sin, the ground was cursed and the descendants of Adam had to sweat and toil in order to eat all the days of their lives.

Genesis 3:17 says, ¡°To Adam he said, ¡®Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' ¡¯Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.¡®¡±

I am not sure how the forbidden fruit looks like, but Adam and Eve were deceived by the devil and took it disobeying God who had warned them not to eat it and sinned against Him. We can¡¯t help but pray not to fall into temptation. The devil tempts us to fail the test, but we must watch and pray so that we will not fall into temptation. When we pray, the devil can¡¯t come near us who pray! It is only prayer that makes us win over trial and test. In the Bible, even Jesus¡¯ disciples fell into temptation. When Jesus told them, ¡°"You will all fall away," Peter declared, "Even if all fall away, I will not. Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." However, Peter later disowned Jesus three times. When Jesus was arrested, then all the disciples deserted Him and fled. When Jesus had prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground, all His disciples fell asleep. Then He asked them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."(Luke 22:46) When individuals or family members or children or fellow workers have to make a serious decision, if they pray first and decide, they won¡¯t fall into temptation. However, if they fall into sleep before serious decision, they must fall into temptation of the devil. The devil is a professional tempter. He leads us into temptation professionally. To overcome this, we cannot but pray. When we pray, the devil¡¯s professional temptation will lose its power. No matter how impregnable difficulty may be, if we pray, we become more than conquerors. If we pray, the Lord gives us strength to overcome every problem.

Psalm 118:8-9 says, ¡°It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.¡±

Philippians 4:6 says, ¡°Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.¡±

It shows us that our thanksgiving brings about victory to us all the time. Our prayer to God has this amazing power in it. E. M. Bounds said concerning the power of prayer as follows, ¡°The promise is like the blessed rain falling in full showers, but prayer, like the pipes, which transmit, preserve and direct the rain.¡±

Jeremiah 33:3 says, ¡°Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.¡±

When we pray, God will manifest an amazing thing. Therefore, when we suffer, we must not be discouraged but pray!

In Acts Chapter 3, a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. Then Peter looked straight at him and said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."(Acts 3:6) As Peter said,
"Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." Then instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Among us there are many who have silver and gold, but much more people don¡¯t have silver or gold. Even though we don¡¯t have much silver or gold, but we have the name of Jesus. So we must use the power of the name of Jesus. ¡°By His stripes, I am healed!¡± ¡°Where, O death, is your sting? I command you in the name of Jesus, ¡®Go away!¡¯¡± We can proclaim imitating what the early church Christians did. ¡°Where, O death, is your sting? I command you in the name of Jesus, ¡®Go away!¡¯¡± The devil plants grumbling and complaints into people¡¯s hearts. But, we can resist the devil with prayer. Do not give up or step back when praying.

James 4:7 says, ¡°Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.¡±

God made the Garden of Eden for Adam and Eve and provided everything they needed. Furthermore, He took Adam to preside over every creature. Adam and Eve had nothing but giving thanks to God. Then Adam became a friend of the devil and kept conversing with him so he was later deceived into accepting the devil¡¯s complaints against God. The devil said in Genesis 3:5 as follows, ¡°"For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

The devil tempted Adam and Eve by saying, ¡°God forbids you to taking and eating of it because He is afraid of being robbed His dignity.¡± The devil deceived Adam by saying, ¡°For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.¡± At this Adam had complaints against God and rebelled against His warning. It is the same with us nowadays. If we forget God¡¯s grace and keep complaining and murmuring against God, we will end up being caught in the devil¡¯s snare. It is the most important for us to have good friends in the world.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, ¡°give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.¡±

When we give thanks in all circumstances, we can overcome every test in life. When we give thanks in all circumstances, we can be more than conquerors in every test of life.

Colossians 4:2 says, ¡°Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.¡±

However, some people don¡¯t have anything to give thanks to. But it doesn¡¯t mean that they don¡¯t have anything thankful in life, but they can¡¯t realize what they should give thanks to.¡± One of those obstacles to our thanksgiving is that we take it granted. We usually take it granted that whenever we wake up in the morning without any sickness never thanking it to God. In addition, we also take it granted whenever we see beautiful scenery every day. However, those blind people want to see those scenes we see every day as their life long dream. When we think about it, what we take it granted should truly be the title of huge thankfulness. There is an another reason why we can¡¯t thank God. It is because we always compare ourselves with others. Those who compare what they have with that of others can¡¯t be happy at all. They usually say, ¡°Why does my life always fail while that person always prospers whatever he does? Why should I always be sick while that person seems to be healthy all the time?¡± If we keep comparing ourselves with others, our hearts will be filled with complaints. Of course, your life sometimes seems to be harder than those of others.
However, you must know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.

Psalm 50:23 says, ¡°He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God."

Therefore, those who have true faith will never be discouraged comparing themselves with others. They can give thanks for good things or hard things; they can be grateful in all circumstances. Thanksgiving sets us free from all restraints.

Psalm 9:1-3 says, ¡°I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you.¡±

We can¡¯t describe enough how strong our Lord is!
There is no one who can be exempt from suffering. However, if we give thanks and praise to God even in the midst of hardship, amazing miracles will happen. When Paul and Silas preached the gospel in Philippi, they were arrested. After they had been severely flogged, they were put in the inner cell and their feet fastened in the stocks. If Paul and Silas had complained, saying, ¡°Oh, why me? while I preached the gospel, God couldn¡¯t protect me but let this happen to me!¡± nothing would happen! Nevertheless, Paul and Silas prayed even in the inner cell and praised God in keeping time. As they kept singing, the whole earth began shaking. In keeping time to their praises the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose. When the jailer saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, but Paul shouted, "Don't harm yourself! We are all here! It is not people but God Himself who opened the door!" As Paul and Silas gave thanks to God, the power of thanksgiving opened the prison doors. God will let freedom and liberation flow into each man¡¯s home. When we give thanks, our thanksgiving becomes a mighty power to set us free from all restraints. Our sacrifice of thank offering glorifies God. Our sacrifice of thank offerings honors Him greatly.

Psalm 95:6-7 says, ¡°Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice.¡±

Psalm 118:28-29 says, ¡°You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.¡±

In Luke Chapter 17, ten men who had leprosy met Jesus and they were all cleansed from leprosy. Then one of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked Him. But the other nine hurried back to their homes so they forgot to give thanks to Jesus who healed them. The rest nine ran to their homes and gave thanks to their family members. I pray that if you receive grace from God, you must give thanks to Him for His grace. The opposite of thanksgiving is complaints and murmuring. God hates these complaints and murmuring the most.

Numbers 14:27-29 says, "How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites.
So tell them, 'As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you the very things I heard you say: In this desert your bodies will fall--¡¯¡±

Complaints and murmuring against God is the most heinous thing to Him. On the contrary, thanksgiving glorifies God and pleases Him the most.

People of faith can sing songs of thanksgiving in the midst of sufferings. This is because they believe that God works for the good in all things. Thanksgiving is the power that conquers every trial and honors God. Therefore, thanksgiving must always overflow in our life. If we give thanks with all our strength with sincere hearts, God will receive glory and will fill our life with abundant grace.
