Today I would like to share the grace of God under the title, ¡°Where Is Your Faith?¡±
In the Desert of Judea, Jesus asked His disciple Philip something. There were more than twenty thousand people including women and children besides men. It would have been very crowded with this huge crowd in the field. Then Jesus said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?"
Then Philip and other disciples began to calculate it and said, ¡°We can¡¯t! There is no bakery around here and we don¡¯t have money!¡± But Andrew came with five loaves of bread and two small fish. Five loaves of bread and two small fish! It coudn¡¯t feed them at all. However, only Andrew among Jesus¡¯ disciples brought five loaves of bread and two small fish to Him. He practiced his faith as small as a mustard seed. Even though five loaves of bread and two small fish could not meet the need of a great crowd of more than twenty thousand, he brought them to Jesus. Then the Lord regarded his faith as praiseworthy and took them and blessed them and fed more than twenty thousand people including women and children with them. When you have faith in your heart, you should use it. Unused faith is useless. However, Philip and other disciples calculated the situation. Calculation could not feed the crowd. Andrew also calculated, but he thought that five loaves of bread and two fish could be available anyway. When God orders us to do something, we must obey; if we calculate it, it can¡¯t be faith at all. Accounting belongs to God. We should follow His order. Then Jesus wanted to teach His disciples faith, but they didn¡¯t show their faith. In the desert of Judea, five thousand men were fed with five loaves of bread and two small fish besides women and children and there were twelve baskets of leftover bread and fish. After that, the disciples crossed over the lake to the other side with their boat. After they fed five thousand men besides women and children with five loaves of bread and two fish, they were greatly impressed. If we had been there, we would have been very impressed, too and full of faith.

As Jesus got into a boat with His disciples and was crossing the Sea of Galilee, the boat was filled with water because a squall came suddenly. As they faced a very dangerous situation, they were caught in fear. So they went to Jesus and found Him in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Jesus said to His disciples, "Where is your faith? Where is the big faith that I taught you in the desert of Judea and why do you not know what to do?"
They asked one another, "Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him." They gave ridiculous answers to Jesus!
Jesus told them, ¡°Where is your faith? If you have a great faith, you should use it. But you couldn¡¯t practice it at the roaring sea but just rushed here and there.¡± God has already given faith to each and everyone of you. However, you should practice it to be developed into a bigger faith.

There are always winds and waves in your life. There are some invisible waves. Countless things happen in life. These are invisible waves.

Job 5:7 says, ¡°Yet man is born to trouble as surely as sparks fly upward.¡±

As sparks fly upward, there are always troubles in our life. The winds are always blowing throughout our lives. High waves are always caused by the strong wind, not vice versa. The wind always matters. We happen to meet financial waves or disease waves or political waves or those high waves of worries, anxiety, restlessness, and despair overwhelm us. Why do they keep on coming to us? Why do they not cease? It is because the devil works behind them. Without the devil there would be no waves or storm at all. As the wind causes high waves, the devil works invisibly behind them to form unceasing waves of problems in our life. When the high and rough waves rush to us, we have to suffer! Therefore, we should resist the devil who works behind them. When we are overwhelmed by high waves, we are unable to see de facto power. However, there are always demons behind those troubles. The evil demons always bring evil waves of troubles. Dirty demons also bring dirty waves of problems. Jesus rebuked the wind and the waves to be calm and subside. His rebuke shows us that there would be the horrible devil behind them. If we do not cast out the devil who works behind troubles and problems in life, he will cause continuing waves. When we face a crisis in life, we need to go before the Lord and cry out.

Psalm 86:7 says, ¡°In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me.¡±

Jeremiah 33:3 says, ¡°Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.¡±

Jesus always sees our faith and when He finds whosever has faith, He says, ¡°It will be done according to your faith!¡± If He can¡¯t find any faith, He says, ¡°Where is your faith? Why are you so upset?¡±

Luke 8:25 says, "Where is your faith?" he asked his disciples.¡±

His disciples were so terrified that they cried out to the Lord, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" If they had known faith, they would have resisted the devil who worked behind the storm and got rid of those high and rough waves.
The disciples encountered scary winds and waves when they were crossing the lake at night and they shook in fear.

Before they crossed the lake of Galilee, they witnessed the miracle of Jesus with their own eyes. At that time they were full of faith! Nevertheless, even right after that miracle when they encountered the heavy storm in the middle of sea, their faith was gone without any trace and rather they were possessed by great fear. Looking at their horrifying features, Jesus said, ¡°Where is your faith?¡± It meant, ¡°Why did you not practice your faith?¡± If His disciples had used their faith then, they would not have been terrified and bewildered, but went to Jesus without hesitation. If we recognize that Jesus is with us, we need not be fearful. In usual times we think we have faith, but in crisis, we tend to fear and be discouraged and in despair. However, it is in crisis that we should use our faith actively. We¡¯d better use even small faith! Jesus is pleased when we use our small faith!
How can we practice our faith? May I teach you how to use your faith? It is to pray! When we have problems, the invisible devil works behind them so we must fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith and prayers! When we rely on Him fully, even if we pray with a small faith like a mustard seed, He will use it to move mountain-like problems in our lives.

Psalm 107:28-30 says, ¡°Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.¡±

When we pray, God will calm the waves of the sea and guide us to our desired haven. God is always with us. Who is our Almighty Lord that He commands even the winds and the water ?

Luke 8:25 says, ¡°In fear and amazement they asked one another, ¡®Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.¡¯"

They were blown away! Jesus is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.

Psalm 89:11 says, ¡°The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it.¡±

Psalm 89:9 says, ¡°You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them.¡±

You should know that even if water and fire try to demolish you, you can be restored as long as God is with you!

Psalm 121:5-7 says, ¡°The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life.¡±

Isaiah 41:10 says, ¡°So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.¡±

Matthew 28:20 says, ¡°And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

When we encounter various storms of life, we must trust in our Almighty God who is always with us to work behind us and then we don¡¯t need to fear at all. It is because we can commit our life to God. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.¡± We can rise up again and be restored! As the winds blow and cause high waves, it is the same with our lives. However, the Lord presides over our entire life, we don¡¯t need to fear at all. When we cry out to Him, any winds stop blowing and any waves of problems subside immediately. Even today do you depend on God? If not, are you caught by the belt by the evil devil? We should look deep into our lives. There are no waves without the winds. There would be no waves of trial if the devil did not disturb our individual life. We must drive out the devil who follows us with heavy trials. Please repeat after me, ¡°You enemy devil! I command you in the name of Jesus, go away! I command in the name of Jesus!¡±¡°Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances.¡±¡°Pray continually¡± means that we should cast out the devil continually. We are God¡¯s very precious treasure.
He never leaves us. He takes good care of each one of us! Pray much and commit yourself to God and then He will help you and cast out the devil and perform the work of the life of the Holy Spirit!
