Today I would like to share the grace of God under the title, ¡°God Who Rescues Us and Fills Our Needs.¡± As we live our lives in this world, we encounter various hardships. Sometimes, we are so hard pressed on every side that we cannot move. But, we should not be discouraged or fall into despair. We must believe that God who is with us will rescue us out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire.

According to recent research, the most wanted thing to discard among college students and office workers is fear. It is the same with not only the young but also old people. There are fears of diseases or financial insecurity after retirement.
Especially Koreans have enormous worries and insecurity about life after retirement. According to the result of one research about ¡°What does the word ¡±Retirement,¡± remind you of, in 17 countries around the world, those who belong to the developed countries answered positively with such words as, ¡°freedom, satisfaction, and happiness, while in Korea most people gave negative answers such as ¡°financial difficulties, fear and loneliness.¡± Regardless of age, nowadays most people are feeling insecure about their invisible future. However, we Christians must have peace of mind in every situation, whatever and whenever. It is because God will rescue us and fill us to the full so we won't lack anything.

As God is in heaven while we are on earth, many people say that He is not concerned about us. It is not true. God created us and takes good care of us and also rescues us.

Psalm 91:14 says, "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him.¡±

Here the word ¡°love,¡± is translated as ¡°Hashak,¡± in Hebrew. This means: that it sticks to it tightly. Even if we face difficulty in life, as we stick to the Lord tightly, God will rescue us from fire and water. We Christians must not go astray, but stick to the Lord even in difficulties. We should cling to Him saying, ¡°Hashak. Hashak.¡± Then God will deliver us as we cling to Him. Daniel, an Israelite youth, was thrown into the lions¡¯ den when he refused to worship idols, but lions could not maul him at all.

Psalm 116:8 says, ¡°For you, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.¡±

Psalm 34:4 says, ¡°I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.¡±

God not only rescues us but also fills us to the full.

Psalm 81 says, ¡°I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.¡±

A vessel in the Bible is our hope and dream. Only when we prepare our vessel then will it be filled. Even if heavy rains fall from heaven, we can¡¯t get one drop of water without preparing a vessel. Likewise, we must prepare a vessel to be filled with God¡¯s grace. The vessel is our vision and dream. Where there is no vision, the people perish. It is because the people without vision are those without any vessel; without a vessel nothing can be received.

Philippians 2:13 says, ¡°for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.¡±

When we prepare a vessel of visions and dreams, a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into our laps by God.

Psalm 145:18-19 says, ¡°The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.¡±

In hardships and difficulties, we must come before God and seek His help. We should not worry and be anxious, but go before Him to ask with faith. George M?ller was a German who came to England and cared for orphans so he was later called a father of orphans. He testified that he cared for many orphans and provided everything they needed including educational opportunities. Through all this, M?ller never made requests for financial support, but he knelt down before God and was in constant prayer that only God make provisions for the orphans. He kept receiving answers from God and could care for the orphans. What a really marvelous pastor he was!
One day he testified that we should not worry but believe and ask God¡¯s help.
In his diary he wrote, ¡°Today in the evening I strolled in a small garden and meditated on Hebrews 13:8 that says, ¡°Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.¡± As he was meditating on this verse, he confessed. ¡°Jesus has been providing everything these orphans needed with His faithful love and power until now. So he will also provide everything I need with His unchanging love and power. When I think of the Lord of faithful love, joy overflows in my soul. After this, a letter arrived a minute later and there was a note of 20 pounds in it.¡± That was what George M?ller needed at that time! The Lord who is the same yesterday, today and forever will also meet all our needs. God rescues us His children and meets all our needs.

Matthew 6:30-32 says, ¡°If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.¡±

John 16:24 says, ¡°Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.¡±

Matthew 7:7-8 says, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.¡±

Our God loves us so much! Therefore, we must prepare a vessel for His answer.

In 2 Kings, one of the company of the prophets was dead and his wife cried out to Elisha for help. After her husband died, his creditor came to take her two boys as his slaves. Then Elisha replied to her, "How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?"
"Your servant has nothing there at all," she said, "except a little oil."
Elisha said, "Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don't ask for just a few. Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side."
She left him and went from one house to another asking them for as many jars as possible and her entire house and garden were filled with empty jars and afterward shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. Like with the five loaves of bread and two small fish Jesus fed five thousand men and then gathered twelve basketfuls of leftovers, just so her oil bottle kept pouring oil endlessly. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, "Bring me another one."
But he replied, "There is not a jar left." Then the oil stopped flowing.

There is no problem for God to bless us. How could so many quails fly to the Israelite camps in the wilderness? Manna came down profusely every day for 40 years! How marvelous it was! Water also poured out of a rock! There is nothing impossible for God! We have this wonderful spiritual Father with us, but we still don¡¯t know Him well. Our hopes and dreams are vessels; when we have these hopes and dreams and come before God, He will fill us with His answer!

God fills us to the full.

Psalm 68:9 says, ¡°You gave abundant showers, O God; you refreshed your weary inheritance.¡±

Here, ¡°abundant showers¡± in Hebrew have a meaning, ¡°showers given freely.¡±
God not only fills His people¡¯s needs but also gives it as His grace. God tells us that we must think of the era of the Old Testament when God¡¯s people had no lack in their lives. Nowadays people keep saying, ¡°I lack.¡± Some say that they lack money. The rich say, ¡°I lack money,¡± while the poor also say that they lack money. Others say that they lack in health or educational background or love. However, there is nothing lacking in living a life with God. When the Israelites left Egypt, they had to go through the vast and dreadful desert, with its venomous snakes and scorpions for 40 years; In the wilderness everything including what to eat and drink is insufficient. Then the Bible says about the life of God¡¯s people in the wilderness as follows, ¡°The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast desert. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.¡±(Deuteronomy 2:7)
Even if the Israelites were in the wilderness, nothing lacked as long as God was with them. When God is with us and blesses us, although we are in a situation like being in a wilderness, we can enjoy overflowing grace and live an abundant life. If we visualize only a poor and difficult situation and speak negative words, we have to live in difficulties one after another. Even if nothing is visible, audible, and touchable, as we look up to God only and keep declaring abundance as follows, ¡°I can make it. It will be done. Let us do it. I believe. I have everything abundantly. I can share God¡¯s blessing,¡± with a vessel of a dream, God will be pleased with it and come to you and say, ¡°It will be done according to your faith.¡± By reading the Word of God we can get dreams in our hearts. Not by evil desires or greed but by a pure heart we can accept the Word of God and cherish it with dreams and believe that it will be done and confess it positively with our mouths. Then God will perform miracles even today.
When we face hardships, we worry and become anxious; it will bring pain to us. When a research was conducted concerning what people fear, 40 % was concerning the past fear and 50 % was about the future fear while only 10 % was about the present fear. However, the past is already gone; while nothing will be changed in the present or the future even if we worry so much. Jesus says in Matthew 6:27, ¡°Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?¡±

Worries do not belong to God. Therefore, we should not worry, saying, ¡°What shall we eat?¡± or ¡°What shall we drink?¡± or ¡°What shall we wear?¡± Our heavenly Father knows that we need them!

Isaiah 49:15 says, "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!¡±

How great the word of God is!

Isaiah 58:9 says, ¡°Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.¡±

When we pray to God, He will answer, ¡°I am here. I will answer to you.¡± We must commit all our problems to God and move forward boldly with dreams and hope.

While we are living in this world, sometimes we feel deserted by God. Only when our thoughts are positive and active then can we live with God in our lives of faith. If our thoughts become negative, everything will become ruined. Therefore, we should not forget the law of visualization. When we have the Bible and look up to the Word of God, He will pour out His grace on us overflowingly. Through prayer we must stick(Hashak) to our dream in our hearts. When we embrace God behind Him and love Him and dream about Him, He will say, ¡°Have faith in God, Don¡¯t be afraid but just believe!¡± We must believe the Word of God with all our hearts and confess it with our mouths. Then God will say, ¡°It will be done according to your faith! You are doing a good job!¡± while rejoicing over us. Nowadays, we must believe in God and experience Him personally. Only then can we have a steadfast faith.
